With the update it brought to Google My Business, you will now be able to track phone calls from your customers via Google Search and Maps. It allows you to answer missed calls in order to increase your interaction with your customers. It also keeps all of your searches in one space.

With these searches, you can increase your interaction with customers who find your business on Google and connect more easily. In addition, a short message is sent as a notification message that the calls are coming from Google. Also, this feature will now only be available to a certain business group in the United States for experimental purposes.

How Does “Call History” Work?

As always, Google has thought of its users and offers this service easily. What you need to do is very simple. When a customer uses the search button in your profile, it will be visible in the “Calls” tab in your account as a notification. In this tab, you will be able to access many options such as recent calls and missed calls. Also, Google will connect you with a different forwarding number instead of the number in your customers profile. Google has not yet explained the reason for this, but it is clear that such a choice has been made in terms of security. “So how do we activate this feature?” If you are asking, here is the answer:

Open Call History on Computer

From Google Search

1. On your computer, sign in to the Google Account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
2. Search Google for the full name of your business to find your Business Profile. You can also search for “my job”.
3. If necessary, select View profile to open your Business Profile.
4. Click the icon on the “See call history” card and then open it.

From Google My Business

1. Sign in to Google My Business on your computer.
2. If you have multiple locations, open the location you want to manage.
3. Click on Home Page.
4. On the “Preview search history” card, click Try it and then Open search history.

Turn off Call History on Computer

From Google Search

1. On your computer, sign in to the Google Account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
2. Search Google for the full name of your business to find your Business Profile. You can also search for “my job”.
3. If necessary, select View profile to open your Business Profile.
4. Click on Customer and then Calls.
5. Click the 3-dot menu Menu and then Call settings.
6. Turn off the call history feature.

From Google My Business

1. Sign in to Google My Business on your computer.
2. If you have multiple locations, open the location you want to manage.
3. Click Info in the left menu.
4. Click Edit next to your work phone number Edit.
5. Uncheck the box next to “See recent calls from customers in Google Search and Maps”.
6. Click Apply.

Tip: If you turned off the search history, you can turn it back on from the “Home” tab.

Open Call History on Android

From Google Search

1. On your Android phone or tablet, sign in to the Google Account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
2. Search Google for the full name of your business to find your Business Profile. You can also search for “my job”.
3. If necessary, tap View profile to open your Business Profile.
4. See “See call history” on the card, start tap and then turn it on.

From Google My Business

1. Open the Google My Business app on your Android phone or tablet.
2. If you have multiple locations, open the location you want to manage.
3. Tap Home Page.
4. Try it on the “Preview call history” card, tap and then open call history.

From Google Maps

1. Open the Google Maps app on your Android phone or tablet, Maps.
2. Make sure you’re signed in with the account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
3. Tap your profile picture or Account Circle in the top right and then tap the initial of your Business Profile to open your Business Profile.
4. On the “See call history” card, tap on start and then turn it on.

2. Search Google for the full name of your business to find your Business Profile. You can also search for “my job”.
3. If necessary, tap View profile to open your Business Profile.

6. Turn off the call history feature.

From Google My Business

1. Open the Google My Business app on your Android phone or tablet.
2. If you have multiple locations, open the location you want to manage.
3. Tap on Customers and then Calls.
4. Tap More More and then Call settings.
5. Turn off the call history feature.

Tip: If you turned off call history, you can turn it back on from the “Calls” tab.

From Google Maps

1. Open the Google Maps app on your Android phone or tablet, Maps.
2. Make sure you’re signed in with the account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
3. Tap on your profile picture or the initial of your Business Profile at the top right to open your Business Profile. Account Circle and then

From Google Search

4. See “Call history” on the card, start tap and then turn on.

1. Open the Google My Business app on your iPhone or iPad My job.
2. If you have multiple locations, open the location you want to manage.
3. Tap Home Page.
4. Try it on the “Preview call history” card, tap and then open call history.

Tip: If you turned off the search history, you can turn it back on from the “Home” tab.

Finally, we need to talk about certain situations about the search history. If you’re using Google My Business search history, we recommend reviewing the following:

1. Calls stay in the “Calls” tab for only 45 days and are deleted after 45 days
2. If you have registered in the call history and a customer is calling you, you cannot turn off the automatic message.
3. You can only monitor phone calls in call history, not texts in call history. But if you want, you can send text messages to your customers via the GMB application.
4. When a customer call reaches your voicemail, it is classified as “calls answered”.
